Over the past year we have interviewed several hundred delegates, exhibitors and sponsors as well as past/current speakers and Advisory Committee members asking each "What makes you attend a conference?"  Over 90% of everyone interviewed cited the ability to Network and Network efficiently as one of their Top 2 reasons to attend (the other Top 2 reason being the quality of the Technical Program). For 2005 we have chosen Del Lago as the site for just these reasons; close enough to Houston to not feel out of touch, but secluded enough so that all in attendance have the opportunity to meet most, if not all, in attendance.  At Marine Construction Houston 2005 you will find numerous avenues to network with your colleaugues in the industry, from Continental Breakfast each morning, longer Coffee Breaks, Cocktail Receptions every night, Golf and a Special Event (still in the planning stages) for the evening following the first day of the Technical Sessions.

Of course, we all realize that we have to get people there and we have to keep them there.  That is the main reason we will have a Keynote Presentation on the 2nd day of the Technical Program; quite frankly if there is a presentation that many really want to see AND it is on the morning of the 2nd day of the Technical Program, more people are likely to spend the night at Del Lago, meaning more people at some of the prime networking events.
